Fixmo Extends No-Charge Mobile Risk Management Solutions for Government Agencies Through Agreeements with National Security Agency

Technology With NSA Heritage Empowers Agencies to Understand, Monitor and Mitigate Mobile Risk

Orlando, Fla., Sept. 20, 2011

At the NSA Trusted Computing Conference in Orlando, Fixmo today showcased powerful mobile risk management solutions available free of charge for government agencies. Fixmo's new defense-grade solutions for server compliance, device integrity and data integrity result from its participation in the National Security Agency's Technology Transfer Program (TTP), a formal program for commercializing NSA-developed technologies. To date, Fixmo's solutions are used to manage the risk on more than half-a-million of its customers' mobile devices. Government agencies are deploying more mobile devices than ever before, and employees and contractors are also using personal devices to conduct government business. While these devices bring significant benefits, they also introduce tremendous risks associated with device integrity and data protection.

Through a Co-operative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) between the NSA/CSS, as represented by the Information Assurance Directorate (IAD), Fixmo is actively engaged in various projects centered on mitigating mobile risk. Through the NSA TTP, Fixmo has driven the transition of powerful MRM solutions from government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products to commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.

Earlier this year, Tony Sager, Chief Operating Officer for the Information Assurance Directorate, National Security Agency, stated, "Our agreement with Fixmo is a great example of how the Technology Transfer Program can both improve security and provide great value to the taxpayer. Through this partnership, innovative ideas from NSA can be delivered to our customers in a commercial, scalable and supported product."

Fixmo offers fully supported, no-charge versions of its COTS solutions to all government and defense agencies:

-- Unveiled at the show, Fixmo SafeZone empowers the secure use of personal devices on a government network by establishing a "secure container" on these devices. The organization controls the data and applications within the SafeZone, while employees control all their personal data and applications outside of this zone. This product was developed as a result of Fixmo's CRADA with the NSA.

-- Fixmo Sentinel Server Compliance Check (SCC), the COTS version of the NSA AutoBES solution, ensures that servers delivering mobile solutions are configured correctly at installation, and stay that way. Auditing server configurations for compliance has traditionally been a lengthy, manual process rife with errors. Fixmo Sentinel SCC expedites and simplifies this process with an automated tool to audit, alert and confirm server configuration. It ensures that mobile device infrastructures such as the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and the Good Mobile Messaging Server are compliant with set up requirements found in the Defense Information Systems Agency's Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

-- Fixmo Sentinel, the COTS version of the original NSA AutoBerry, provides integrity assurance for BlackBerry and Android devices. Fixmo Sentinel ensures they start and remain in a known, good configuration, through automated detailed scans and analysis of software on mobile devices.

"Through our strong relationship with the NSA, Fixmo is expanding these technologies to deliver significant value to the government, the enterprise and ultimately, the taxpayer," said Rick Segal, Fixmo's CEO. "These COTS mobile risk management solutions provide government compliance officers with answers to two important questions: How do I know a mobile device is doing what it's supposed to do, and how do I prove that?"

For those attending the NSA Trusted Computing Conference, Fixmo is exhibiting in booth 513.
